At Green Cactus, our commitment to sustainability is at the core of everything we do, from our name to the way we operate every day. Here’s how we’re working to reduce our environmental impact and bring you feel-good food and coffee:
From the start, we’ve built our cafés with sustainability in mind, using mostly recycled materials and reclaimed wood for a warm, welcoming space that doesn’t compromise the planet. Apart from essential electrical wiring, you’ll find our spaces are free from single-use plastics.
Using seasonal fruit and veggies means fresher flavors and a smaller carbon footprint. Not only does it lower emissions, but it also lets us serve the best-tasting dishes, highlighting nature’s calendar year-round.
At Green Cactus, we’re serious about minimising waste. With our focus on fresh ingredients, we carefully manage stock to avoid waste wherever possible. And when we have produce that’s past its peak, we get creative—think soups, sauces, and more that taste fantastic and keep our waste minimal.
We’ve proudly partnered with TooGoodToGo, a certified B Corp dedicated to saving surplus food. As the first independent business in our area to join, we’re helping make a difference by offering unsold but perfectly good food at a reduced price through their app. Download the app and help us combat waste!
At Green Cactus, we believe every choice counts. Our packaging is eco-conscious wherever possible, and we’re always on the lookout for greener alternatives like our bagasse coffee cup lid made from a natural byproduct of sugarcane, making it fully biodegradable, unlike the industry-standard plastic lids seen in many cafes.
Green Cactus has even been recognised on Condé Nast Traveller's list of sustainable things to do in London!
We’re always evolving our practices and exploring new ways to reduce our environmental footprint, and we’re thrilled to have a community of customers like you supporting this journey.
